Scattered Feelings and Thoughts...

As I sit here in my new home (city, state) almost coming up in a year since I've moved away from Denver. I realize so many things.... I'm happy as it can be... in my personal life that is. In my career life who knows that verdict is still out...

So many things have happened in 1 year since me moving... I absolutely love where I live! I'm living now with the love of my life in Tempe, Arizona which is in the Phoenix Metro area. I'm commuting to DEN still for work.

***Before I continue I want to apologize to who ever reads this if nothing makes sense... My thoughts are just scattered all over the place right now***

Since moving here to AZ I have learned many things about myself that I thought I would never like! I NEVER thought I would like living in the desert! But I actually LOVE IT! I still miss home (Houston, Texas). But this is my new home with someone I absolutely love! I have started playing soccer which I absolutely love playing!! I have started to mountain biking as well. So on the home front all is well and I'm very blessed for that.

On the work front all is CHAOS! Well in my opinion... Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I have been at my company for 9 years. Well coming up on 9 years this February. I have done SO many things for my company and have learned so many things in the several positions I held. I'm right now at a point in my life where I'm getting tired of the people I work with and the company I'm working for. The reason I'm getting tired of the people I work with is because they are constantly complaining about the same things over and over again! It's like they are NEVER happy! I understand you can't please everyone, I get that... But really when is ENOUGH! I get that our company is going down the tubes and we are in survival mode but we need to make some sacrifices to survive in this economy cause if we don't ALL of us will be with out jobs! Then on the other hand when do we as employee's for this company put our foot down and say ENOUGH too?! I once loved the company I signed up to work for 9 years ago but since the take over I can care less for it and that makes me really sad....

What also doesn't help either is the traveling public. They pay "$39" Dollars for airplane tickets and they expect the world! I mean really?! There are SO many "riff raff" traveling on airplanes now... It's not fun to fly anymore as a working crewmember or even as a passenger.

Combine both of those things mentioned above and equals missery! I just had 3 weeks off and I was happiest at home doing things at home around the house and being home everynight.

I talked to my partner about how I was feeling and the BEST advice I was given from him was "I think it's best and you owe to yourself to take a step back from work. Meaning drop hours." I think he is RIGHT!! I should not be making any rashinal decisions right now cause I'm speaking from emotion. The good thing is I'm working with a really good friend the whole month of January so that should help out BIG time. SO I look forward to that for next month. Come February if I'm still feeling the same way I'm feeling right now then I will take a step back from work and drop my hours.

I am very grateful I have a partner that is supportive in me stepping back from work for a bit. I think I need a sabitical....

I absolutely LOVE my line of work! I knew I wanted to be in the airline business since I was a very young age. So I know I'm in the right field but I think I just need to "re-charge" my batteries.

Again sorry for VENTING my feelings about this... I just had to write all of this down....

Airport Security

I titled this “Airport Security” for a certain reason nothing bad at all but its pretty funny I think… I just finished a 4 day trip this morning, it sure was a long trip!

One of my first overnights I had on this trip was to ATL (Atlanta, Georgia), which was one leg out and a 19 hour layover. I thought to myself that’s not so bad… Well it wasn’t, it was a great flight! We left for ATL 1 hour late cause of a late arriving flight that had 12 passengers connecting to our flight and we couldn’t leave them behind. So they boarded we did our thing and next thing you know we are landing in ATL at 1am. Everyone deplanes the aircraft and we as the crew start walking to the train station to catch it to the main terminal so we can catch our van to the hotel. After 15 min on the train (it usually doesn’t take that long) we finally arrive at the main terminal, we walk towards the BIG escalators and as we are approaching the top of the escalators we see so many people waiting for their loved ones. We step off and look back and notice a big police officer sitting at his work station in front of everyone taking a nap! Here is a big police officer at the ATL airport in uniform suppose to be keeping an “eye” on things and he is sleeping! He was literally falling out of his chair sleeping! LOL! One of our pilots tells the TSA agent standing closer to us that the police officer is sleeping, the TSA agent says “not my job” we are like what?! Seriously?! We started laughing and just walked away. As we walked to the hotel van I started thinking… He shouldn’t be sleeping! What if something happened and he couldn’t help because he was to busy sleeping? I kept thinking of “what if” situations… I am sure a lot of people that witness that thought the same thing. I wanted to take a picture of this police officer almost falling out of his chair while he was sleeping and posting it on facebook and titling it… do you feel safe at the ATL airport?

Enjoying Life...

I know it has been a while since I last blogged on here... Life for me has been really busy since I last wrote. Still NO excuse... SO much has gone on in my life these last couple of months. Can I just say WHIRL WIND! GOOD ONE TOO! :)

I have decided to dedicate this year to TRAVEL! I work for an airline and I have the world at my finger tips why not explore the world and meet new people along the way! In January I ventured off to Costa Rica. GREAT country! This month (February) I ventured off to Hawaii! AWESOME place to visit! The month of March I will spend working so in April I can venture off to Thailand for Thai new years with my best guy friend from San Diego! SUPER excited about that trip!

The reason I decided to dedicate this year to TRAVEL is because I have nothing holding me back and you ONLY live once and I have an itch to see SO many things and meet SO many people. :) These last couple of months have been a whirl wind for me but totally worth my time!

I have SO many thoughts rushing through my head right now about my adventures to Costa Rica, Hawaii and places here in the USA (yes I know Hawaii is still considered the USA) I meant here in the "mainland" but if I started writing about it I would be here ALL night. LOL!

I am enjoying life right now and the people in it! Thanks again everyone in my life for being SO GREAT!

Doors Close and Lots MORE OPEN...

Can I just say... what a week! WOW!! Trust me its GOOD, WOW!! ;)

I have jumped a REALLY BIG hurdle in my life that was holding me back from so many things... They say "a door closes a new one opens" I must say very true! Once you have put everything in that room and shut that door tight the feeling of being FREE sets in and you can BREATHE! Its like a BIG TRIUMPH! Well for me it feels that way and thats all that matters... LOL! :)

Doors OPEN... Just finished a lovely 4 day trip yesterday and I have encountered lots of people! My co-workers are GREAT! I was heading to SFO (San Francisco) yesterday and a young women starts talking to me.. so we start talking and she proceeds to start telling me some personal things about her life, I am like WOW! The funny thing is, strangers on the airplane tend to do that to us! So if you are a flight attendant you know where I am coming from. So we get to SFO and she asked for my name so I gave it to her and next thing you know she is giving me a "sick bag" from the seat back pocket with my name on it! I am thinking to myself... this girl is CRAZY! So I opened it and inside she put a business card with a little note and her number saying "next time you are in Denver call me and I will cook for you" My other crewmate looked at me and she was like "are you ok?" so I showed it to her and we both started laughing so much! I was thinking to myself WOW! I am shocked she didn't realize I choose to live an "alternate life style" (to be politically correct). Well its good to know that people still find me attractive although its the opposite gender! LOL! ;)

Doors continue to open... I would love to write about it but I don't want to "jinks" it... Life is great right now! I feel like a million bucks! Going with the flow of things living life as it comes to me... what ever comes my way great I'll enjoy every minute of it!

SO if you are holding on to something and you can't seem to let go of it cause you are scared of the outcome, JUST LET GO! In my "certain situation" I had to let go for the best! I finally feel like I am living! That light I once had is coming back very quickly and its going to be BRIGHT! :)

Starting something NEW...

Hello everyone...

I have decided to start blogging my adventures... As some of you may know I am a Flight Attendant and I do quite a bit of traveling and encounter lots of interesting places and people through out my journey. Some of you know I have kept journals through the years and in those journals I write about EVERYTHING! I write about how I am feeling at the time or what I have planned and sometimes even wishing...
I decided to name my blog "The Star" because stars to me represent something beautiful, a comfort feeling a feeling of Home. Being from Houston, Texas and not really living in the city limits of Houston but a suburb west of town by the name of Katy, Texas I was always able look up at the sky and see the BRIGHT Texas STARS. No matter where I am at in the USA even if I am flying at 39,000 feet and I can see the stars I will always think of home, my family and close friends.
